In our ongoing quest to eliminate synthetic folic acid from all DI Nutritional BioAge® products, we have made a formulation change to our current SAMe tablets. We are still procuring the same high quality, enteric coated, blister packed and stable SAMe tablets as before, but now without folic acid, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. Our manufacturer offers just two versions, one with all three b-vitamins and one without. We have chosen to offer the stand alone SAMe tablet to stay consistent with our position on synthetic folic acid.

SAMe is a naturally occurring metabolite found in the human body as well as in plant and animal foods, and is the most active of all methyl donors and has been compared to ATP in its importance for the body. SAMe is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters, the hormone melatonin, phospholipids, and polyamines, which control cellular growth. It is also the source of methyl groups inside the nucleus for DNA methylation, which controls gene expression and masking of genetic damage.

To ensure conversion of SAMe to its safe metabolite cysteine and not homocysteine, we recommend that intake of b-vitamins is optimal. This can easily be achieved by taking one of the following formulas: B-Supreme, Cardio B or MultiVite Two A Day.

This product does not contain: wheat, soy, corn, yeast, milk, or gluten.

Serving Size: 1 tablet

Recommended Use: As a dietary supplement, take one tablet one to two times daily, preferably on an empty stomach, or as directed by your health care practitioner. Individuals with bipolar (manic) depression should not take SAMe unless under professional medical supervision.
